Healthcare Assistant – Care Home

About the Role

We are currently looking to hire enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join the team at their care home in Coatbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and making a real difference in residents’ lives. As a valued member of the Care Team, you will support residents in their daily lives, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care. You will work closely with colleagues and healthcare professionals to promote wellbeing and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Whether you are experienced or new to care, full training and support will be provided, including a structured mentoring programme for those new to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a fulfilling and engaging lifestyle for each resident
  • Support with personal care, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments
  • Encourage and organise activities to keep residents active and engaged
  • Work alongside Nurses and other healthcare professionals as required
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report any changes promptly
  • Record and report incidents in line with procedures
  • Care for residents’ personal belongings respectfully
  • Maintain equipment and report any faults
  • Accompany residents on outings where required
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to infection control policies
  • Support with additional duties as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or working towards) preferred
  • Understanding of National Care Standards and Codes of Conduct
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, empathetic and resident-focused approach
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • SSSC registration (or willingness to register within required timescales)

  • Flexible, permanent contracts – 22, 33, or 44 hours per week (days & nights available)
